See that still above? That’s from a really complex Flash Game called Wolverine: Time Warrior where you control Wolvie in the Civil War, World War I and World War II. Use Spacebar to fire your various guns and the “G” button to throw explosive devices. Get up-close-and-personal with your enemies and hold down the spacebar to see a little zoom window pop up for Wolverine’s claw-combo action.
Kill generals, collect “Intel packets” and enjoy something this entertaining being for free! CLICK HERE!
And if that isn’t enough for you, 20th Century Fox an Hugh Jackman are giving you a chance to move the world (not-illegally pirated) Wolverine Premiere to your town. Details under the cut…

Slusho, like the Dharma Initiative logo (Lost) and the Tagruato Corporation (Cloverfield) is one of JJ Abrams inside jokes that he fits into his projects when he can. Sort of Like Quintin Trantino’s Big Kahuna Burger or Red Apple cigarettes.

Ok, Alternate Reality viral-game players, what’s hidden in the audio disruption at SkyNetResearch.com?
I received a nice e-mail from the technology company (that should by CyberDyne, but let’s put that to rest for awhile) that alerted me to some audio problems they were having CLICK HERE (will open in new window) to hear for yourself.

Somedays, the internet gives you multiple videos that can be labeled “Brief Absurdity” vids, and sometimes those videos relate to each other. These two don’t, with the exception of one thing: they both are evidence of film fans taking their fandom into the world of production instead of taking it to the message board.
I don’t have a lot of time, and the person who was supposed to give me a copy of Final Cut hasn’t come through, so - to me - these two fan videos are exemplary. Above, Iron Man fights Bruce Lee by filmmaker Patrick Bolvin from Canada and below a Wall-E/Watchmen trailer mashup that doesn’t sound like it would work, but certainly does.

Yes, I’ve been getting your e-mails about the “What if Willy Wonka was made more like SAW with Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Wee Man and Zach Gilford” Funny Or Die trailer called “Gobstopper.”
Oh wait. You didn’t mention Zach Gilford in your e-mail? He’s Matt Saracen on Friday Night Lights! Six! And no one is putting him in movies worthy of his talent, not even Gobstopper.
Though Gobstopper is pretty funny, and makes me wish Christopher Lloyd would actually do a horror movie. Just part of his character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit plus this version of Willy Wonka. That’d be terrifying…

About 20 minutes of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat followup screened at SXSW and the reactions have been unsurprisingly positive. Borat was a brilliant film that got sadly overexposed way to fast and adopted by every douchebag you ran across with the damn mustaches and the “Eeets N-eye-ce,” and that was a way to quickly forget the caliber of comedy we actually saw on screen. Leave it to a Brit to show America in the light we don’t usually step into.
This time around, the plot has something to do with Bruno, a usually-gay Austrian designer who adopts a black baby from Africa and names him O.J., looks for a gay lover and - eventually - ends up in a homosexually charged cage match:
The SXSW screening went pretty well, as far as promotional video will tell you:
So while Joaquin Phoenix is out there with his abrasive rapper persona, Baron Cohen manages to gallivant all over America and not get his stunts completely tracked and spoiled.

I don’t know if y’all have been keeping up on your Daily Show, but Jon Stewart is doing an exemplary job of pulling his show along with the political times and not sitting back on his “Obama’s been elected laurels.”
Without mentioning too much politics, here’s Stewart himself outlining his feud with Jim Cramer of CNBC (a non-biased article you can find HERE at the LA Times Blog):
