Me, yesterday: “Hey Ryan, before I go, I wanna pull up the new Transformers trailer on you laptop, ok?”

Ryan: Yeah sure.

(minutes later)

Me: Sweet, come take a look at the last seconds of this trailer. Devastator is huge.

Ryan: I’m not interested in Transformers.

Me: Why not? They’re the best.

Ryan: They are NOT the best.

Me: That’s not what I mean. I mean that it’s a special effects movie and from this trailer, it looks like it might be the best special effects movie this summer.

Ryan: I don’t care about that Shia LaBeouf stuff.

Me: Me niether. But you have some of the best motion graphics artists in the world disassembling vehicles and rebuilding them as giant fighting robots. And each part needs to respond to the light a certain way, and have it’s own weight…it’s complex stuff.

Ryan: I get it. I just have no interest in seeing it.

Me: Not even in IMAX? Dude, if you like visual effects and/or robots you need to see this movie this summer.

Ryan: I don’t like visual effects or robots.

Me: What you talking about, Willis?

Ryan: Okay, I kinda like robots.

Trailer under the cut…

The Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen footage that was shown to critics and theaters owners at ShoWest has appeared online via Michael Bay. It includes a single dialogue scene between Sam (Shia LaBeouf) and Bumblebee while Megan fox strips down to something skimpy and gets some flowers out of nowhere, then, the per-usual quick cuts of robot action that show us Devastator, the Twins, Jetfire, The Fallen and Megatron kicking Optimus Prime in the teeth. Check it out…

When I joined Twitter, there was a fake Michael Bay around, talking about how he was going to blow stuff up, even un-blow-up-able stuff. Or he’d joke about moving fast or yelling on set, you know, Michael Bay things. But he called attention to his Fake-Bay-ness, especially after Twitter made him take down the Michael Bay picture he had on his account.

Now, The Real Michael Bay has joined the micto-blogging service and is kicking it off Bay-style with some high quality set pics (HERE).

There’s only so far you can go with spoiler toys for a huge CGI summer tent pole flick. As we learned with Wolverine, toys certainly contain spoileriffic views of stuff (cough…Deadpool), but it’s the high-quality Transformers renders that are always bad ass “first looks” at all our new buddies.

Transformers Movie Chronicles has the HIGH QUALITY looks at Skids, Mudflaps, Megatron, The Fallen, Ravage, Sideswipe, Ironhide, Ratchet, Starscream and Devastator HERE.

Finally, they are as pretty as they are supposed to be.

Arcee, the only female Transformer in the film series thus far will be making her debut in Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen this summer, even though she was part of the original concept designs for the first Transformers. Rumor is that amongst the giant Transformers in one, Arcee would have been underwhelming and SHORT, ‘cuz a motorcycle makes a human-sized Transformer.

Also cut from one was the Aircraft Carrier Transformer, so it doesn’t pay to be big. And the next smallest Transformer in the first film was Jazz, who got ripped in half.

Here’s what I learned today: If you’re a black, female or small Transformer, your life ain’t worth much…

The ending of ShoWest saw a surprise burst of new footage from G.I. Joe and Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.

It looks like Bumblebee still doesn’t have a voice, nanobots almost take out Paris and Megan Fox de-robes…
