George Clooney is still in New Mexico filming Men Who Stare at Goats.

Obligatory description: The movie is based on a 2004 book about alleged U.S. military efforts to develop paranormal powers for American soldiers. Clooney, 47, plays a U.S. soldier who fights the enemy using ancient Chinese mind techniques.

He went from looking like a dirty hippie to looking kind of clean cut, and now the dirty hippie wig goes back on for a game of basketball. From what we can tell, this is not part of the movie, just part of George’s downtime. Though the addition of the long hair makes the action shots more action-y.

If you forget the basketball is there, it kind of looks like the man is dancing.

If Love And Other Impossible Pursuits continues to film outdoors in New York, we’ll end up seeing a third of the movie before it even hits theaters. Natalie Portman plays an emotionally-distant second wife who has to take care of a child that isn’t hers from her husband’s previous marriage, and we know there is at least one coffee shop scene (CLICK for photos) and one walk-and-talk on the sidewalk between Portman and the kid (CLICK for photos).

Now, the Central Park ice skating rink has been added to the places where Portman will undoubtedly get closer to her not-offspring son, still played by a kid we can’t identify.

Seriously, guys, get a room to shoot in.

Not only did a Victoria Secret “fashion show” go down today in California (with Heidi Klum in attendance and occasionally attendancing), but we have some news that makes this the Best Post Ever.

From Collider’s Hellboy II Blu-Ray story featuring Jeffery Tambor:

On the red carpet, Jeffrey told me he just spoke to Mitch and the movie is a go! He says Mitch Hurwitz spoke to him this week and while he didn’t know when the start date was, he said, ”when the writer/director calls you it’s a pretty good sign.”

And from Coming Soon’s Ron Howard interview:

“I really hope we do it,” Howard enthused. “The reason there’s been so much back and forth is… well, for two reasons, is the business understanding coming from the studio side was not clear, so even though we were wanting to do it and said, ‘Yeah, maybe we could’ but things weren’t defined. I think that’s really come into focus in the last week or so. Mitch’s full-on commitment to not only write it but direct it is something he’s been wrestling with, he’s been launching a TV show at the same time, so he couldn’t let it really be at the forefront of his mind creatively. It is now. He seems very committed. We still don’t have a script. Yeah, he’s got some great ideas, and the cast seemed very excited about it and I certainly am. I’m very, very hopeful—more hopeful now than ever—that it’s really going to happen.”

Arrested Development movie with series-creator Mitch Hurwitz at the helm? Models in bikinis? Heidi Klum dancing?

You’re welcome.

Just because the election is over doesn’t mean that your favorite pro-Obama celebrities aren’t still excited about winning something for a change (on to Prop 8, we suppose). What better way to celebrate than by a new song and YouTube video by the first black man to be beamed by hologram directly to Anderson Cooper?

That’s right, a bunch of celebs hit up their webcams to join Will.i.am for the chorus of his song celebrating an Obama victory. Even Kevin Bacon makes an appearance, allowing you use this video to further reduce degrees to himself.

The only celeb that piqued our interest was a crazy-dancing hot woman around 1:42. It’s Oliva Wilde, currently on FOX’s House as bi-sexual fellow Thirteen.

Since celebrity political video/songs aren’t that interesting, we latched on to the excuse to show you some choice cuts from Dave’s Oliva Wilde gallery.

We are not sh*tting you, he has more of these on his hard drive. God knows where he found them or how long he has had them.

When discussing Zachary Quinto, what does one mention first? Do you mention that he’s soon to be the next Spock in JJ Abram’s upcoming Star Trek franchise re-launch? Do you mention how the character of Sylar (Quinto on NBC’s Heroes) has evolved from his season one villainy and his season two ultimate suckage? Do you wonder aloud if the success of Star Trek set against the decline of Heroes will suck Quinto into bigger and better things?

We do know that these stills come form the California set of Heroes, where Quinto is in full SWAT garb (with Dell Toughbook), carrying some unidentified youth (that ass doesn’t look familiar) out of a truck.

Spoiler? Maybe. But we have no idea what’s going on. We’re just wonder how he gets his hair to look that good after he yanks off his SWAT hood.

That rhymed didn’t it? Now we feel like Kristin Bell.

When Jennifer Lopez bailed on a film adaptation of Love And Other Impossible Pursuits, Natalie Portman jumped in as both producer and star, which is very admirable. Love, a Don Roos-directed adaptation of an Ayelet Waldman novel, is currently filming in New York City, which means it’s nearly impossible to keep photographers off set, it’s just possible to make them limit their pictures to the celebrities.

Wikipedia is quick to summarize the book’s plot:

Emilia Greenleaf is an attorney living in New York city with her husband, John Wolf. Emilia is stepmother to John’s 4-year-old son, William, who is a remarkably intelligent child. William lives primarily with his mother, the medical doctor Carolyn Soule. It is Emilia’s job, however, to pick up William from his nursery school every Wednesday afternoon. When she picks him up, Emilia is often subjected to snide glances and whispers from the other mothers because, it transpires, her relationship with her husband began when he was still with his wife. They had an office affair, and eventually the marriage dissolved. The reader also learns early on that Emilia and John recently lost their own child together, a girl they named Isabel. They had the baby home for only one day, as she died overnight of SIDS in Emilia’s arms after being fed.

We left off the ending, because if you read that paragraph, chances are you care as much as we do at this point, which is near nil. Portman will be playing Emilia Greenleaf, and we would totally leave our wife for her new look in this film, so that’s - like - half the tension gone already.

Remember when she went bald for V for Vendetta? Yeah. Her hair is 100x better. And we don’t even know sh*t about hair. We just know what we like, and we like Natalie Portman.

paris_w_love_banner.jpg

We know a little about From Paris, With Love. Mostly, it’s the film with a weird looking John Travolta who is wandering around Paris with a bald head. It’s directed by Pierre Morel from a script by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak. The thriller, co-starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, concerns a young embassy worker and an American secret agent who cross paths while working on a high-risk mission in Paris.

And, we know that in October, filming was shut down when Luc Besson was planning to shoot in the Paris suburb of Montfermeil, home to some tough housing projects. Everything was going on schedule until the production company woke up one day to find 10 of thier cars burned out by arsonists.

Production stalled as they pulled out of Montfermeil, but things look to be back in full swing. At least we’re getting pictures of our stars in front of cameras, which is nice for John Travolta. Could you imagine if he had shaved his head for nothing?

We may have a case of the Mondays, but this old high-school photo of Tina Fey gave us a mission this morning: find really hot pictures of Tina Fey.

Say what you will about this post’s topicality, hot Tina Fey has a place on the internet at all times.

Mel Gibson has a gun! He’s in Boston outside of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and he’s shooting a gun a movie.

In the upcoming Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson plays homicide detective Thomas Craven, a man investigating the death of his activist daughter. He uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.

Directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Legend Of Zorro) and co-starring Ray Winstone, you can see Edge of Darkness next year. But for now, we have 7 more pictures from the set, and Mel Gibson looks amazingly crazy in all of them.

It’s like he’s incapable of not looking mildly insane. And in that last one, there’s something in his mouth. Thus far, Mel Gibson is 0 for 8 in restoring viewer confidence through production photos.

gemma_arterton_banner.jpg

Gemma Arterton has joined the ranks of sexy Bond girls as agent Fields in this week’s Quantum of Solace, but why should Daniel Craig get all the fun glimpses of her?

Close your eyes and imagine you’re a secret agent. Now, we’re going to assume your eyes are open again, because you;re reading this. But, you should still feel like a secret agent. You may not be James Bond, because then you’d be cavorting with bikini-clad Gemma, but you’re at least a spy with a telephoto lens, hanging out around pools, waiting to glimpse celebrities in bikini’s.

The line between stalker and spy is mostly semantics.
