This video has made appearances on Film Drunk, /Film and Film School Rejects thus far, so we might as well add it here.

And though the above video is hot, no doubt, I’m surprised how many people we’re thinking it was a new idea. Hot lightsaber battles have always been interesting, it’s just now with computer you can get some models to hack away at each other’s clothing (and when was the last time two guys had a fight when they tried to undress rather than kill each other?).

Anyway if you want a meaningless Dave-anecdote you can read more, but all the jokes are above…

I swear I’m going to get along to new eventually, but the Muppets sketch on Saturday Night Live (with Seth Rogen), just had some pitch perfect casting and impressions that made me…well, blog this before other stuff.

Found this ad on Craigslist over the weekend. I may not be in Los Angeles, but I can turn out poll quotes as good any. Here’s two for free, mystery film:

“A high-concept romp through complex themes close to the human heart.”

or

“Didn’t see it, but has a statistically strong chance to be better than Jim Carrey’s The Number 23.”

Somedays, the internet gives you multiple videos that can be labeled “Brief Absurdity” vids, and sometimes those videos relate to each other. These two don’t, with the exception of one thing: they both are evidence of film fans taking their fandom into the world of production instead of taking it to the message board.

Above, Iron Man fights Bruce Lee by filmmaker Patrick Bolvin from Canada and below a Wall-E/Watchmen trailer mashup that doesn’t sound like it would work, but certainly does.

Both of these videos from our partners in Crave, Film School Rejects.

Yes, I’ve been getting your e-mails about the “What if Willy Wonka was made more like SAW with Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Wee Man and Zach Gilford” Funny Or Die trailer called “Gobstopper.”

Oh wait. You didn’t mention Zach Gilford in your e-mail? He’s Matt Saracen on Friday Night Lights! Six! And no one is putting him in movies worthy of his talent, not even Gobstopper.

Though Gobstopper is pretty funny, and makes me wish Christopher Lloyd would actually do a horror movie. Just part of his character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit plus this version of Willy Wonka. That’d be terrifying…

It’s hard to pick a favorite Batman logo when you see them all in a row like this, though bonus points for including the chest-logo from Batman “Dead End” which was included in my previous post Fan Films That Don’t Suck.
