I know, I know: This happened yesterday.  Since I was suffering from what was apparently a more benign strain of pneumonic plague, however, I was unable to respond to the news with anything more than a premature death rattle and some mild foaming about the mouth.  Incidentally, I discovered that the cure for pneumonic plague is Mexican food followed by a brief period of unconsciousness.

But I digress.  The word, for those who haven’t heard, is that Vertigo Entertainment are commissioning Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband Kaz Kazui, who own the intellectual property rights, to produce a reboot of the 1992 “Buffy” movie.  It’s being reported, however, that the flick may not exist in the same universe as Joss Whedon’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” television shows.

I can only assume that this is a bad thing for fans of the same.  As you may have guessed, you can’t count me among their number.  I’d put the entertainment value of the “Buffy” television show slightly above pneumonic plague, but roughly on a par with the hallucinations associated therewith.  In my hallucinations, at least, the pointy-toothed pale fellows managed a semi-decent English accent.
