Iron Man II started filming yesterday, and you know what that means? Just lots of slow information leaks from every source imaginable. For instance, if you want to see set photos that are just iterations of the above three character shots you can check out SpoilerTV,  Coming Soon or Just Jared.

You know why this happens? Because the first Iron Man had such a good trailer. I am not kidding whatsoever.

Here’s how I think it went down: First Iron Man has a few paparazzi leaks, but once the first trailer came out and got such a good reaction, people started combing the internet for more Iron Man. Much like panning for gold, the more you shake the pan, the more all the crap falls by the wayside and good nuggets come up. Post Iron Man trailer, all the press done about Iron Man by sites that just do that stuff normally (like how I’m going to post on-set stills for Ashton Kutcher’s Five Killers today even though Five Killers isn’t high on the buzz meter) got raised to super-happy-hits status, prompting more of EVERYTHING Iron Man.

When the movie turned out to be good, sequels were greenlit and Marvel decided to use Iron Man to tie the whole Marvel Universe together, the filmmakers basically insured that everyone, everywhere will be publishing each little bit of Iron Man II news, even when it’s only the first day of production.

That being said, there WAS an unexpected cast member on set yesterday. Wanna know who it was…?

So yes. Gary Shandling was on set. Rumors currently circulating suggest that Gary is either a Senator or a reporter if Iron Man II picks up from the “I am Iron Man” press conference.
