I’m actually surprised I haven’t written about Hunter Prey before because it’s the sort of project that is right up my film geek alley…

I doubt the name Sandy Collora is familiar to you unless you are REALLY into fan films. If you are really into fan films (or checked out my post Fan Films That Don’t Suck ), then you might recognize Sandy’s name, because he’s the guy who made Batman: Dead End, the geek orgasm where Batman Vs. The Joker turns into Batman Vs. Alien Vs Predator all with fantastic costume work. It ran into some legal problems and spawned a book about fan films, but served as a Collora calling-card, no doubt.

Sandy showed some nice directorial chops there, which is why his first full-length Sci-Fi feature is going something I’m looking forward to. Not only are those bad-ass costumes real and designed in a classic Sci-Fi manner, but Sandy put some brave actors in those things and drug them down to Mexico in the sweltering heat to tell the story of an alien convict escaping and the small crew of special forces commandos that are tasked with tracking him down.

Right now, tiny indie budget with stills that look this good suggests a nice little geek film that I hope gets a chance to play somewhere central where you local folks can catch it.

We’re hearing the teaser will be premiering next week at i09, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for it. More on Hunter Prey HERE for those that can already see how badass it’ll be.
