I love how these days, on the internet, “Exclusive” really means don’t hot link me, but cite me, then take your content and get the hell out of here. Like, if this was 1989 instead of 2009, I would be running down to some magazine store that has all the newspapers put out, nation wide, every day. I would bring my scissors and my paste, and I would be cutting stories out of Entertainment Weekly and Variety and posting them on long sheets of legal paper, then handing them out for free in front of the store.
That explains why the Astro Boy one sheet above has the MTV Exclusive mark on it, and if you click it, you will return to MTV, where your eyes equal ad dollars (just like here, except I need your eyes, and they would just like them). What’s more, Tamara from Summit Entertainment sent me a link to this one sheet, basically asking me to steal it. So it was stole.
Oh, yeah, and Astro Boy has a new trailer out to…which I can steal and put under the cut!
God bless ye, internet…
That’s the first time we got to hear Frank Highmore as Astro Boy.
As Tamara says: Astro Boy follows the adventures of a young-yet-powerful robot who, in the hopes of winning his inventor-father’s heart, sets off on a quest to rid the world of evil. However, he soon discovers that his home, Metro City, stands on the brink of destruction, and it is up to him to save the day as well as his friends and family.
You can see it October 23rd, but you can bet there will be cooler trailers/clips in the future.
