Things are looking up for Chris Pine who will blast onto screen this summer as a young Captain James T Kirk, and that’s even if this rumor turns out to be false, because from where I’m sitting this is believable, and if you would have pointed out Pine in the 2006 Lindsay Lohan movie Just My Luck and said: “That guy is going to be Captain Kirk AND have a shot at being the Green Lantern,” I would’ve called ya crazy…

Producer Donald De Line (attached to Green Lantern) told Dark Horizons:

Question: You have a number of films in development that I’ve got to talk to you about. So, let’s start off with Green Lantern. What’s the status on that?

De Line: The status is, funnily enough, we are leaving for Australia Wednesday night with Martin Campbell, our director, to go scout in Sydney and Melbourne, and we plan on starting to shoot mid-September in Australia.

Question: Do you have a complete cast, as yet?

De Line: No. We don’t have a soul cast.

Earlier today, IESB broke the story that Chris Pine was rumored to be at the top of a list of names for the role of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.

According to my sources “THE OFFICIAL OFFER is out Chris Pine for the role.”

At press time, Pine hasn’t either accepted nor declined the role.
