Dan Ackroyd opened another House Of Blues in Boston was part of an online Q&A for the Boston Globe. Thankfully, someone asked him about Ghostbusters. Not that I don’t like a House of Blues like everyone else, but I love Ghostbusters so much more…

From The Boston Globe chat via AICN:

[Comment From Tom] Dan, I’m extremely excited for the HOB to be back in its birth-city!! I will be attending many shows. On a side note, and I’m sure you get these questions a lot, so I apologize in advance…Ghostbusters 3? I’ve heard that the writers of the Office are currently penning a script? How is this coming along, and should we look forward to this movie seeing the light of day? Thanks Dan!

Dan Aykroyd: Script is commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late fall 2009

Translation: The script is still a go and Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitski of The Office are still somewhere hacking away at it. If the movie gets a greenlight off that script in early summer, you could see a rush casting (and bargaining with Bill Murray) followed by Ghostbusters 3 shooting in the fall.

That’s a lot of “ifs” rolled into that statement, but it’s good to know Ackroyd hasn’t given up yet!
