We’re kind of fans of Bret Easton Ellis’ cinema. His books are dark, usually have more to do with the 80s than other times, and usually feature some really f-ed up people doing crazy things. Less Than Zero, his debut novel later adapted into his debut film, was written in a flurry of Crystal Meth, and it’s like the guy never stopped writing that way. That being said, everyone knows American Psycho is the best Easton Ellis adaptation (though The Rules Of Attraction has the best James Van Der Beek performace of his Dawson-less career), and it’s no surprise that the glitz, glamour and murder are back in the adaptation of The Informers, a collection of interconnected stories that has been adapted into an ensamble film.

Knowing now what they didn’t know then, having Mickey Rourke in their film will probably help them this week at Sundance and being the Brad Renfro posthumous film can’t hurt general curiosity either. Really the only thing The Informers has to do now is not suck.
