John Travolta’s son died Friday during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to a family attorney.
Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, says attorney Michael Ossi.
However, police say he died after hitting his head on the bathtub.
A house caretaker found the teenager unconscious in a bathroom late Friday morning.
He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from chief police superintendent Basil Rahming.
The teenager had last been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures, according to the statement.
Police said they are planning an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
There have been reports that Jett was autistic, though Travolta has denied it, saying he suffers from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease.
Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, said Ossi.
