Crank 2: High Voltage will see the return of Jason Statham as Chev Chelios, the guy who couldn’t let his adrenaline drop during 2006’s Crank, one of the most under-watched B-movies of the decade.

Yes, that’s heavy praise to put on Crank, but the movie starts with a bang and doesn’t let up until the end, allowing you to suspend your disbelief at…well, you’ll have to beleive a lot of crazy sh*t for Crank to make sense. But it worked, somehow.

Now it looks like the sequel is going to turn it up a notch. The whole thing was shot with multiple digital hand-held cameras and follows Chev as a mobster replaces his super-heart with an electrical powered one that needs routine electrical shocks to keep it going.

If Crank 2 delivers on half of what the trailer shows, it will be well worth my money come April 17th.

If you’re over 18 and not at work, check it out underneath the cut…
