The trailer for Disney’s new talking animal movie, G-Force, is now available for your viewing pleasure, and - like most Disney movies - raise some questions about the realistic implications of the talking animals.
In this particular case, guinea pigs, a mole and a fly are secret agents for a bewildered-looking Will Arnett who wants them to stop a criminal mastermind who seems to have ripped off Transformers with third-rate supplies and thinks he can take over the world with his mechanized army. But, in a world where a specially trained squad of guinea pigs are the FBI’s last line of defense, maybe a land-line phone with tentacles would be threatening.
Here’s the question though: why not use this team of animals to track down Osama bin Laden? Wouldn’t non-US citizen animals with military technology on their side basically be the perfect task force for recon?
Seriously, giant robots? That’s such a Bush era solution.
G-Force opens on July 24th in 3D and features guinea pigs Darwin (voice of Sam Rockwell), the squad leader determined to succeed at all costs; Blaster (voice of Tracy Morgan), an outrageous weapons expert with tons of attitude and a love for all things extreme; and Juarez (voice of Penelope Cruz), a sexy martial arts pro; plus the literal fly-on-the-wall reconnaissance expert, Mooch, and a star-nosed mole, Speckles (voice of Nicolas Cage), the computer and information specialist.
