You know what makes a trailer really classy? A “swoosh” sound while the trailer flashes to negative.
ome people editing trailers these days won’t do that. “What is it, 1998?” they’ll scoff. And they’ll try to hit you, but because of hours and hours editing, they are usually not int eh best physical shape. Some have adapted to throwing things at you, usually empty Red Bull cans and old copies of Filmmaker Magazine. Once, we had about three used dispoable razors thrown at us for suggesting they maybe start with something different than “In a world…”
Luckily, we’re saved from having to ponder what “world” we’re entering in for the new Street Fighter movie. Instead, we get a very enthusiastic Japanese narrator, a flurry of uninteresting shots (save Michael Clarke Duncan shooting a Bazooka) and a quick look at Vega, another Street Fighter 2 character who appears in the film.
Is it just us or is Vega’s single claw not that threatening?

Opening in theaters on February 27th, the 20th Century Fox release was directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and stars Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Neal McDonough, Taboo, Chris Klein, Moon Bloodgood, Edmund Chen, Cheng Pei Pei, Josie Ho and Robin Shou.
