Just to re-cap: Joss Whedon’s new series is called Dollhouse, which focuses on a character named Echo played by Eliza Dushku. Echo is an “active” which means she’s a woman who has her brain tampered with to go on secret missions, pleasure weekends, or whatever the client needs. After she does that, her memory is wiped. Though, we’re guessing something’s going to start her remembering.

The series was supposed to show up in the Fall, but got pushed back to mid-season (January). Between here and there, Whedon decided that the pilot he filmed was actually going to be shifted to the second episode and the crew had to re-shoot the pilot based on a new script. Then, in September, production shut down so Joss could work on getting more scripts written. Soon after, Fox decided to stick Dollhouse in the Friday prime-time slot, a place where sci-fi shows go to die slow deaths in front of few committed viewers.

Now, there’s nothing left to do but wait for the reviews to roll in, then watch an episode for ourselves.

Below the cut is a new clip from Dollhouse, featuring Echo waking up after her first mind wipe and the following conversation between the two men who run this hive of “actives.”

Is it enough to convince us to watch Dollhouse? Not yet. We kind of wish they had chosen something a little less bland…
