First Look: Observe And Report

Seth Rogan is still on top of the comedy/writing world at the moment. Sure, no one is hiring him to re-draft the new Superman movie or anything like that, but this summer saw his Pineapple Express release as well as his return to adult romantic comedy in Zach and Miri Make A Porno, and those were both decent films. The guy has to be working non-stop to still have movies coming out when he’s spending time writing the Green Hornet adaptation.
When describing Observe and Report, the next Rogan-vehicle to hit the screen, Rogan says: “To me it’s a marvel that a studio let us make that movie…You watch it in a theater and people go crazy. It’s an insane movie. You see people looking at each other going ‘What the hell? How did they get away with this?’ “

On April 10th of next year, we’ll get to see what is sounding like the darkest Seth Rogan comedy yet.
Officially: At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt (Rogan) patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. His delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi (Anna Farris), the hot make-up counter clerk who won’t give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police (Ray Liotta), and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.
