We’re not in the bros before hos business here, and we can’t get behind Kevin Connolly as of late. You may know him as “E” on HBO’s Entourage, or as the the kid in the Beverly Hillbillies movie, but we’re guessing you don’t know him as a romantic comedy lead, because he’s trying so hard to pigeon-hole himself into that slot.

He’s dated Nikki Hilton, Haylie Duff and is good friends with both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire (apparently only Leo got to grow out of the “face of a little boy, body of a little man” club), but still hasn’t been able to splash into film acting.

And he’s trying oh so hard.

Below the cut we have the trailer for two chick-flick ROM(antic) COM(edy)s that feature Kevin Connolly in supporting roles. They are “He’s Just Not That Into You,” because “We’re Just Not Going To see Your Movie (Unless You Really Do Show Sacrlett Johansson Naked)” was too long of a title, and “The Ugly Truth,” pared down from it’s spec title “The Ugly Truth: Katherine Heigl Is A Bitch.”

Neither of these previews are notable, save the fact that they show Kevin Connolly turning in the same performance Kevin Connolly always turns in.

Maybe he should reinvigorate his passion for directing?

Trailers below the cut…

He’s Just Not That Into You

The Baltimore-set movie of interconnecting story arcs deals with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior. Jennifer Connelly plays a woman stuck in a tired marriage with Cooper’s character. Kevin Connolly, meanwhile, is a man pining after a woman, still not cast, who is having an affair with Cooper.

Goodwin is a young woman obsessed with Kevin Connolly’s character who tries to set up accidental meetings with him only to run across his friend, played by Long, who takes her on as a “My Fair Lady” experiment.

Barrymore plays a woman perpetually confused by dating, now more than ever in a culture that is more obsessed with technology than actual human contact.

The Ugly Truth

A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.
