When a big company like Paramount releases and internet only trailer for their summer tent-pole film of next year, and add only a single new shot to it, it seems like a gimmick.

But when that one shot is such a huge fan turn-on, it makes it hard to believe that 10 years ago, we all would have diligently filed into Quantum of Solace to watch the Star Trek preview, been enveloped by the grandeur of the whole trailer, watched an okay James Bond film, then taken it to the water cooler.

Now, we have a trailer released a little over a week since the last one, and this one is just to placate fans who want to see Spock.
