Above is a new trailer for the Clive Owen/Naomi Watts thriller, The International, where a huge-ass international bank decides it wants people dead for a reason that - we’re sure - will be debated through most of the films running time.
It just seems a tad bit ridiculous at this particular time in world financial politics, where any self-respecting international bank would be cowering in some London office, hanging on LIBOR and the TED-spread, holding its ankles and hoping local governments noticed it dropped the soap.
When CITI is firing 50,000 and recieving more of our tax dollars in corporate bailout money, and General Motors hangs in the balance, the question posed at the beginning of this trailer: “You give them your money, you trust them, but what if they use your money for something else?” applies to multiple goverment and non-government institutions every day since September.
Maybe bad timing is why we haven’t gotten into The International.
