So Tony and Tia seem to be forgotten some 30 years later, and their new alien kid counterparts Sara and Seth have escaped the same dying planet, which must have not actually died during the original Witch Mountain series.
This disconnected threads are just from rumors and speculation, but they do point out something interesting: this is a family film for kids who are too young to have dug on the original Witch Mountain films and therefore have no idea that Tony and Tia ever existed.
Looking past all that, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson looks like he’s taken another baby step towards marketable. Though he’s not given much to do here besides be in awe of the weird children, he does make that as believable as possible, right down to the “she talks to dogs,” delivered without any surprise. Because, really, once a kid wrecks an SUV by teleporting in front of it, talking to a dog ain’t no thing.
