There is a new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer that we will embed after the cut, though you really should jump over to Coming Soon and see it in different variations of beautiful Quicktime. Like the Watchmen trailer, the visuals are stunning, but unlike the Watchmen trailer, the dialogue isn’t so slap-in-the-face surprising to hear.

And “Why?” is a good question to ask.

At the beginning of the new HP6 trailer Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) asks Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) “You are, of course, wondering why I have brought you hear tonight?” Harry responds with the title of our blog post.

Where as this would be a trap for some franchises (I’m betting Brett Ratner is hoping we don’t go into Beverly Hills Cop 4 “just sort of going with” Beverly Hills Cop 3), Harry Potter has done little more to it’s source material besides abridge it and use the powers of filmmaking to visually enhance it.

In that sense, this trailer shows “memories” from the pensive in visually stunning ways, and we get quite the single frame of teleporting Harry:
