24 has a long way to go to restore the good name of Jack Bauer, and bringing characters back from the dead (seriously, Tony died - end of story) is a risky way to bring back fans to the show that sucked for a season, disappeared for a year, and now expects us to fall victim to it’s addictive nature once again. The television landscape doesn’t stay the same season to season, and it’s even less likely that 24’s show runners still think their 2001 tricks will work.
We don’t doubt that 24 changed something on the landscape of television, and considering it brought torture to the forefront of pop culture for a few months, it will probably be remembered as one of the more badass thrillers to be serialized on television. That is, unless they blow it by fading into useless tripe.
This November sees 24: Redemption, a two-hour special that will pave the way for Season Seven. At the end of that special, you will see this 2 minute preview…
