Max Payne comes out this Friday, so it’s only fitting we begin hearing from “Marky” Mark Wahlberg to shill the film that’s already fought its’ original R rating. Not to mention it isn’t being screened in advance for critics, save for a day before all-media presentation. (Fun fact: “All-Media” Screenings are essentially held at multiplexes and all those things that give out tickets from radio/newspaper contests. They also don’t promise entrance, as they intentionally overbook.)

The New York Post (owned by Rupert Murdoch of Fox, natch) grabbed one of the first Q&As with Wahlberg. In it, he talks about his low expectations for the film (”Yeah, I’ve seen it. It’s crazy. Wild. It’s everything we hoped it would be. We’re not trying to win the Academy Award, we’re trying to thoroughly entertain people”) and other bland, generic responses to taking on roles (” I want to make movies that I want to see and I think people want to see me in.”)

But the real question on everyone’s mind? The SNL Sketch.

Someone showed it to me on YouTube. It wasn’t like Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin, that’s for sure. And “Saturday Night Live” hasn’t been funny for a long time. They’ve asked me to do the show a ton of times. I used to watch it when Eddie Murphy was there and Joe Piscopo and Bill Murray. I don’t even know who’s on the show now.

Incredible. It’s like the world’s laziest interviewer met up with the world’s most non-confrontational subject.
