Jack Black Thinks He’s A Spy

jack_black.jpg

Jack Black is reuniting with Kung Fu Panda writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger for a live-action comedy about an amnesiac who washes up on a Cuban beach and assumes he’s a super spy.

But he’s not a super spy.

He’s Jack Black, and I’m guessing he will go shirtless and possibly make some sort of joke about Rock’n’Roll…

At least Glenn Berger has a sense of humor for what was obviously pitched as a funny spy movie:

“On the other hand,” Berger said, “if he did turn out to be a superspy, this wouldn’t be a ‘comedic Bourne Identity,’ but just ‘The Bourne Identity,’ and apparently Universal has already made that movie, several times.”

Universal picked up the project as a pitch in a seven-figure deal.

Now, when they start making the same spy-comedy over and over again, then we’ll worry. Until then, we’ll forget about Operation: Cleaner or whatever Cedric The Entertainer’s unfunny fake-spy movie was.
