As far as we know, Baz Luhrmann’s Australia is going to be massive. We didn’t initially think so, and the first trailer had Nicole Kidman’s aristocrat-turned-ranch owner telling a story to a child that seemed to involve Hugh Jackman’s scoundrel cowboy. Now, the film looks much more complex.

From what we know officially, it’s sometime pre-World War II and Kidman’s character inherits a ranch. Hugh Jackman helps her with cattle barons, but we’re guessing something else happens, since most cattle barons around that time didn’t have fleets of airplanes and bombs.

Either way, this preview looks Gone With The Wind mixed with a smattering of African Queen. And that’s a tall order.
