Now that Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire have both decided to do Spider-Man 4 and most likely Spider-Man 5, occasionally, people ask if Kirsten Dunst is going to be be coming back. Almost none who has asked this of us personally has sounded very happy at the idea of Kirsten Dunst returning as Mary Jane, but since she’s already been in the role three box-office-busting times, it was inevitable someone would ask her if she’s back on for 4/5…

But, because she’s KiKi Dunst, she refuses to give a straight answer, probably so she doesn’t mess with her contract. As MTV has more access to Kirsten Dunst than anyone wants to have, they asked the big question:

“I’m in,” said the actress matter of factly. However, when pressed to make the announcement official, Dunst quickly changed her tone, and rather cryptically added, “I’m not saying anything, I know there’s rumors…”

Allow us to step in here: it’s “there’RE rumors” where the apostrophe takes the place of the “a” in There ARE the plural for something like “RUMORS.” There IS a rumor, there ARE rumors. (And we know Lauren is somewhere laughing at Dave for trying to correct Kirsten Dunst when he makes multiple typos a day).

She’s in, regardless of the lack of official announcement, she’s in. Because they are going to reunite the whole cast and collectively forget that a lot of Spider-Man 3 happened. That’s how they save the franchise.

For once, a franchise might be better off with LESS dancing.
