Chances are one of you have seen My Name Is Bruce. The film has been in the can for awhile and doing a traveling show of small rooms, theaters and cons. Thing is, no one can really pin down when the damn thing is going to see release in, you know, a movie theater. Surely there is an audience for a Bruce Campbell B-Movie.

The plot of My Name Is Bruce has something to do with the people of a back-woods town kidnapping Bruce Campbell to help them with a little monster problem in the nearby forest. They assume, because they have seen Evil Dead like the rest of us, that Bruce will know how to defeat the monster. Obviously, bean curd.

The official poster seems new, at least we hadn’t seen it before. Thing is, we posted the trailer for this way back when (CLICK!). Like, December 2007. And IMDB has the film listed on their 2007 slate. But we still haven’t seen it.

Though there might have been some good news that went under the radar at this year’s Comic Con:

I was at Comic-Con 2008 and they were handing out promo DVD’s of My Name Is Bruce. It contains a trailer and a music track. Well on the cover it has a pic of an animated Bruce saying “Only In Theatres NOVEMBER” Hopefully this is the real deal this time because I’m tired of waiting.

We’ve managed to get a picture of the promo the above IMDB poster was talking about, and it does say November.

November what?

UPDATE? - While searching for some sort of theatrical release date, we ran across a Shock Till You Drop post that confirmed upcoming dates where My Name Is Bruce will be shown and Bruce Campbell will provide the introduction and do a Q&A afterwards. These dates, these cities:

• October 26: Austin, TX (premiere)
• Oct. 31-November 2: New York City—Sunshine Cinema
• Nov. 5: Philadelphia, PA
• Nov. 7: Boston, MA
• Nov. 9: Hartford, CT
• Nov. 12: New Haven, CT
• Nov. 14: Baltimore, MD
• Nov. 15: Washington D.C.
• Nov. 19: Columbus, OH
• Nov. 20: Toledo, OH
• Nov. 21-23: Detroit, MI
• Nov. 28-30: Chicago, IL
• Dec. 3: Madison, WI
• Dec. 5-7: Minneapolis, MN
• Dec. 12: Seattle, WA
• Dec. 13-14: Portland, OR
• Dec. 15: Medford, OR
• Dec. 17: San Francisco, CA
• Dec. 18: Berkeley, CA
• Dec. 19-21: Los Angeles, CA

So that’s it? The “November” tease was for a brief tour, just like the previous brief tours? No theatrical run? Or are these just the Bruce Campbell Q&A dates? We’re so confused.

Who handles marketing for this thing, and why can’t we find official word anywhere?
