In a weird twist on weirdness, Eli Roth has been cast as Sgt. Donnie Donowitz in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards. Donowitz is a Nazi-hunter who swings away with a baseball bat, we’re guessing he’s gonna be cracking some skulls.

It just seems like an interesting choice for the first casting news fromt eh highly anticipated new QT film. Like, we were expecting A DiCaprio or a Pitt to join up first, not the dude who directed hostel.

Roth had a small part in Tarantino’s Death Proof – his half of the Grindhouse double-feature – but we never thought that Eli Roth would go from popping yolky eyeballs to swinging bats in a serious genre film.

Color us idiots.

As long as the idiot color isn’t pink. We have enough problems walking around Brooklyn without wearing pink.
