IGN has put some footage from Punisher: War Zone, the last remaining Marvel movie of the year, online so us poor bastards not in San Diego could see just how violent War Zone is going to be.
Fans were a little pissed at the watered down Punisher that Thomas Jane played in the previous film, so Marvel handed over the property to fairly-new director Lexi Alexander (Hooligans). Lexi apologized for basically every piece of footage we saw from the movie, saying that she hadn’t had a venue to show just how violent the movie is going to be.
This time, she’s not apologizing, and it shows. We stopped counting head-shots splattering across the screen around five, and there’s more. Not to mention the leg of a chair being shoved into a man’s eye.
That’s all well and good, but the music is just as abrasive. Fitting for the footage, but abrasive overall. Let’s hope that’s just for preview footage.
SuperHeroHype got the first look a the new poster, which you can see HERE, or just check out the ultra-violence below the cut!
