The news the world is hearing now is that Laura Ziskin, a Sony producer who works on Spider-Man is telling theater owners from California and Nevada that Spider-Man 4 can bow in sometime around May 2011.

She has very plainly stated that there is no script yet, though we still hear that Zodiac scribe James Vanderbilt is almost done with his Spidey 4 draft and that director Sam Raimi is going to wait until he reads the script before he decides his involvement. We think Sony still wants Tobey Maguire, though we feel that after watching Tobey’s Peter Parker dance to swing music (God, we hope there was a pun intended) that maybe it’s time to bring in some new blood on the Mary Jane and Peter Parker fronts.
