It’s been a good year for Marvel. A very good year. Screenings of The Incredible Hulk have started and everything we’ve read this morning has been…
…positive!
Yes, friends, it looks like someone finally realized what a Hulk movie should be: smashing things.
All of the reviews make mention of the geek-squeal-worthy last scene and one brings up some things that are missing.
Spoiler alert…
Right now, it sounds like the producers of The Hulk have opened the door to Marvel’s Avengers movie. Reports indicate that the last scene has Robert Downey Jr telling Bruce Banner: “We’re forming a team.”
From a B&U tipster:
Hey guys,
I was at the screening yesterday at 84th st and Robert Downey Jr. doesn’t tell Banner he’s forming a team; he tells General Ross.I’ m not usually on the studio’s side when it comes to comic book movies, but this time I totally am. This was everything you want from a Hulk movie. If you’re fan of the Ultimate Hulk, Bruce Jones Hulk run or the 70’s TV show, there’s a bunch of nods in there as well.
Oh and the effects were so good, most of the trailers do a disservice to what it actually looks like.
Laters!
Squeeeeee!
Also, one reviewer on AICN reports:
There were a few bits and bobs from the trailers that didn’t make the cut I saw; for example, the psychiatrist’s role is trimmed down and he goes nameless in the movie (I think) which I guess leaves the door open for another Doc Samson down the road.
This is the only evidence we have thus far giving us a hint as to why Ed Norton got in an argument about the content of the film and decided not to do promotion for it. It sounds like the producers knew people only wanted to see Hulk smash things up, while Norton probably argued for more character scenes (which he had a hand in writing) to make the cut.
Norton’s off publicity and part of the Doc Samson scene is gone. Coiencidence?
