Great news from Cinematical, who claims that James Vanderbilt, the writer of David Fincher’s Zodiac has turned in a draft of Spider-Man 4, and – says the source - “his story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time. The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking his deal to snatch up the story arc.”

Two Spidey films shot simultaneously would basically nix Raimi, Maguire and Dunst from returning, because they are still licking their Spidey 3 wounds. Raimi has only commented that he was looking for a writer (we guess he found a good one!) and Maguire has said that Raimi returning is important to him as Peter Parker.

Is Spidey ready to pull a Batman and get a face-change? What arc is ig enough to cover two films? Will other Marvel characters make appearances to help Sony unify the Marvel universe and maybe cash in on some other properties?

So many questions, so little answers.
