Actor Dennis Farina, from Law & Order, Get Shorty and the Chicago Police Department, was charged with a felony on Sunday when a loaded .22-calibur gun was found in his luggage. Farina – who is 64, but doesn’t seem that senile – claims that he forgot the gun was in his bag.
Usually, a concealed weapons charge results in a fine, but this is a felony. Why? Find out after the jump.
From AP:
Farina was booked for investigation of carrying a concealed weapon, said Sgt. Dennis Beacham. Bail was set at $25,000 before police discovered the weapon was not registered. Charges were upgraded to a felony, and he is now being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.
Why was the gun in the bag? Where does a 64 year old actor take a gun in a carry-on bag when he’s not going to the airport? Was he attending a high stakes poker game and thought he’d bring his UNREGISTERED, LOADED .22-calibur gun.
Considering his latest effort is last Friday’s What Happens In Vegas, maybe he had brought the gun to the premiere just in case he had to end his life when the credits rolled.
