When British tabloids reported the arrest of Amy Winehouse this morning, there was a certain amount of skepticism surrounding the report. It failed to mention why Amy had been arrested, though we could all very well guess.
The story developed to include the tidbit that Amy had, as predicted, been arrested on drug charges. Just not new ones.
Turns out it was The Daily Mail that would get the statement from Scotland Yard:
“Around 1pm today a 24-year-old women from the Camden area attended a London police station by arrangement and was arrested in connection with the alleged possession of a controlled drug.
She remains in custody.”
This investigation stems from video released by UK’s The Sun in January showing Amy smoking crack and rambling incoherently.
Looks like it took a few months for the crack to catch up.
