Yes, there was a “concept art” image of Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face being passed around late last night that has subsequently been pulled by Warner Brothers across the net.
No, we cannot covertly tell you where it is right now like we do with leaked trailers.
Leaked trailers are just things made for public consumption that they get ahold of too early. What Two-Face looks like is one of those surprises that make the difference between you walking into The Dark Knight expecting everything and you walking into The Dark Knight to get your socks blown off.
We will say this about the still-searchable Two-Face concept art: it looks much different from the blurry photograph above of what is supposed to be the Two-Face toy.
It is possible that the difference between concept art and the real face has changed drastically. As a matter of fact, that’s how we think this image leaked.
There has been nothing but goodwill streaming from the staff of The Dark Knight, and to think that someone would willfully leak the big surprise seems unlikely. More likely, should the image have been real, is that it as leaked by it’s designer or someone in the art department who didn’t want to let a cool design die just because it wasn’t picked.
He shows it to a friend, who grabs a screen cap, and then it’s all over.
The concept art is cool, but doesn’t match the toy.
One – or both – are unused designs, so we really don’t know much.
UPDATE: Keep it quiet, but Dave has a story on Digg right now about how to quickly use photoshop to turn the controversial concept art into a non-controversial picture of yourself at Two-Face. Digg him!
