First Look: Shopaholic Kiss
Confessions of a Shopaholic, about a young college grad who gets a job as a business journalist while falling in love with a wealthy entrepreneur and – we can only assume – shopping, is currently out and about in New York City filming various scenes.
We don’t think these images scream “spoiler” unless you count the outfits that Isla Fisher is wearing, or – spoiler alert? – she kisses Hugh Dancy and he pays for her food at a street meat cart.
The script has been through three different writers, and probably more (the WGA cutoff is 3), so we’re not quite sure what is making the transition from the novel to the page.
Author Sophie Kinsella posted the following to fans on her website:
As regards the plot - yes, there will be changes. A film isn’t the same thing as a book and there are always a few changes to reflect that. But so far I’m very happy with the way the story is going. I don’t have supreme control over the plotline, but I’ve been talking with the producer loads - and I honestly believe it’s going to be a fabulously funny, lovely, good-spirited film and that we’re all going to adore it!
Sophie was responding to fan reaction that the main character of Becky (Isla Fisher) was made American instead of the novel’s British.
Yeah, that’s about as long as we are going to pretend to care about this chick flick.
