The Tom Cruise = Nazi movie Valkyrie, directed by Bryan Singer has been pushed back, again. Originally slated for this July, Valks was pushed back to October of 2008, and now pushed way back to February 13th 2009.
MGM, the distributors state-side, also moved The Wolfman out of the 02/13 spot and pushed it to April ’09.
Dennis Rice, President of Worldwide Marketing and Publicity for Tom Cruise’s United Artists said: ”’Valkyrie’ is shaping up to be a phenomenal movie. We’re delighted that MGM has agreed to hold the release until the very strong holiday weekend.”
That’s funny, Dennis, because MGM also shot you right out of Oscar season. To the layman, it might look like you guys just took the opportunity to make some quiet money against Pink Panther 2 and the new Friday the 13th relaunch because the already bad mojo on the production has tainted your film.
Pretending you are really happy about the decision doesn’t help our skepticism.
Dumped, we say.
