Call us paranoid, but we think something is going on with Tom Cruise.

First, we hear that he made a visit to the Star Trek set, supposedly to ask MI:3 director J.J. Abrams about meeting Leonard Nimoy. A source for MSNBC said: “He asked J.J. if there’s a way he can meet Leonard Nimoy. He said he’d always really respected his work.”

That’s all well and good and crazy like Cruise, except that this “sighting” just popped up on Perez Hilton, of all places:

Spotted: Tommy Cruise having lunch at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday with former foe Sumner Redstone, the Viacom head honcho that publicly fired him from his Paramount production deal a few years ago.

Both of Cruise’s upcoming film projects are not with Paramount (this year’s “Men” is with Warners while next years rumored Hardy Boys comedy is with 20th Century Fox), so why is Tommy Boy all over the Paramount lot and after the ear of Abrams Sumner Redstone?

We’re just saying, if something were to go down, say another Mission Impossible or a J.J. Abrams/Tom Cruise film not about spies, this is what it would look like from the outside.
