For all you amazing television fans who did your part and sent truck-loads of useless crap to studio heads in an effort to get CBS’ post-Armageddon drama Jericho back on TV, this is a dark day.

After bringing the show back “for the fans” who wouldn’t let CBS quietly cancel the low-rated show after one season, CBS has decided that dedicated fans still only spend one person’s worth of money and are pulling the show this Tuesday.

Says the CBS official statement:

“The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale,” CBS said in a statement. “Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We’re proud of everyone’s efforts.”

We enjoy that CBS took the time to applaud the efforts of the fans they are universally screwing a single season after they put their blood and sweat into a massive peanut campaign.

It says: “Wow, you paying attention, that’s great. Now look a little to the left so we can punch you in the face an not hurt our knuckles on that Cro-Magnon forehead of yours.”
