Short bit of news for all you Star Trek fans who, like us, need to live on little scraps of information since the big JJ Abrams re-launch was pushed back to 2009.
Today on Howard Stern’s Sirius radios show Takei (if you don’t know he’s Sulu, you can go weep in the corner now) told Howard that he had met with JJ Abrams over lunch. When asked if he was going to be in the film, Takei said “no comment,” which isn’t a whole bunch of help.
We have a Star Trek movie that deals with Time Travel becase of the Guardian of Tomorrow that features Leonard Nimoy as old Spock, but no one else from the original cast has been confirmed.
Either Abrams has some tricks up his sleeve like he always does, or Harold (John Cho, playing young Sulu) isn’t gay enough without his Kumar and Abrams needed some directorial advice from flaming Takei and his healthy sense of humor.
We’re guessing Sulu is going to show up.
